Wild Apple Selections



The Trophy Trees 'Wild Apple Selections' were genetically cloned from apples growing natively in Western New York. These apples were chosen for their ability to attract and hold wildlife.



Super Feeder Wild Apple - NEW for 2026





The Super Feeder Wild apple was chosen for its abundance of fruit which we have observed deer checking nightly for what has dropped. A perfect tree to set a trail camera by and enhance your scouting.

The Rut Choice Wild Apple - NEW for 2025





The Rut Choice apple was chosen to drop fruit during the rut. With 15 brix of sugar content, it will hold on to the tree when other apples have already fallen. This photo taken November 13th, with about 1/2 of the apples still to drop and a beaten deer trail under the tree.

Snow Drop Wild Apple - NEW in 2024





The Snow Drop apple is a prolific fruiter and boasts 14 brix of sugar content which helps preserve the fruit on the tree late into the winter. The wildlife can depend on this tree for months. The photo taken on February 21st with bushels of apples still to fall, earns this tree the late dropping classification.

Winter Feeder Wild Apple - NEW in 2024





The Winter Feeder apple has heavy fruit sets of smaller fruit. All types of wildlife will frequent this tree as the cold weather sets in and food gets scarce. Small game foraging in the treetops will continually knock fruit down for larger game including deer. Fruit will continue to hold on the tree in January and provide a steady food source as they drop.

Appleholic Wild Apple





This apple was selected for its plentiful yellow/green fruit and its ability to produce fruit every year. These apples will drop slowly from Mid-October, keeping wildlife coming back for more every night.

Jackpot Wild Apple





The Jackpot apple will be covered in small golden yellow fruit that drops slowly. Deer and Turkey alike will check beneath this tree daily for what has fallen to the ground. By October 10th about 50% of the fruit will have fallen and continuing slowly the rest of the month.

Trophy Wild Apple





The Trophy apple was selected for its ability to produce bushels of large red apples consistently. This apple ripens in early September and provides an excellent forage for early season scouting. The Trophy apple will be sought out by wildlife when other apples have not started to fall.

Fruiting Apples and Pears and Plums



These fruiting apples and pears have been chosen for their heavy crops, consistent performance, and ability to attract wildlife. Apples provide the favorite food source for deer, and they will check below the trees consistently as they begin to fall.



Goldrush Apple





The Goldrush apple is our latest dropping apple. It ripens into late November and will hold on to the tree into December. As the weather gets colder, the apple only gets sweeter and more desirable.

Chestnut Crabapple





The Chestnut Crabapple produces 2" diameter fruit that will ripen in early September. This tree produces heavy crops and is very cold hardy.

Whitney Crabapple





The Whitney is one of the largest crabapples. It is also very cold hardy and an excellent pollinator. The large fruit is ideal for deer.

Dolgo Crabapple





The Dolgo is one of the most cold hardy and earliest to ripen. The fruit will attract wildlife for early season scouting and for setting trail cameras near-by. It is also a great pollinator for other apples in your plot.

Wild Apples - Malus domestica





The genetic variation of seedlings creates diversity and variation in your orchards. These seedlings will grow 20-30ft in height. Wild seedlings will produce diverse forage and help enhance pollination in your plantings.

Comice Pear





Late season harvest, large fruit. Pear is sweet and tender. The best winter pear. Recommended to plant along with Kieffer for pollination.

Kieffer Pear





Late season harvest, medium size fruit. Pear is crisp and desirable to wildlife. Ripens in early to mid October.

Self-fertile but recommended to plant along with Comice for a pollinator.

American Plum





Thickets of American Plum provide an irresistible food source to wildlife as well as shelter. They produce an abundance of small fruit and are cold hardy.

Chestnuts



The Dunstan Hybrid Chestnuts are the result of years of propagation to develop a cross between Chinese and American Chestnuts which are blight resistant. These are an excellent tree for attracting deer and wildlife.

Chinese chestnut is blight resistance and a popular tree for wildlife. Reaching 40-60ft in height.

American Persimmon



The American Persimmon is a United States native prized for its wildlife and ornamental value. The fruit is 1" to 1.5" in size with a yellow to red color. The fruit drops slowly and will often persist on the tree into the early winter. Male and Female trees are needed to product fruit.

Grown from seed and a genetic mix of male and female plants. Persimmon require male and female plants to product fruit. Persimmons are the favorite of white-tailed deer.

Fall Gold Female Persimmon





The Fall Gold Female Persimmon was selected from a set of female persimmon in our trial blocks after 10 years of observation. This persimmon is proven to be cold hardy in WNY, has abundant yellow fruit which drops slowly, and has produced fruit every year for over 6 years in a row. This is a fast growing persimmon with strong growth habit.

Autumn Gem Female Persimmon NEW for 2025





The Autumn Gem Female Persimmon was selected for its heavy crops of fruit that "bend the branches". This persimmon has proven to be cold hardy in WNY, has abundant orange/red fruit which drops slowly from late October to early December.

Hawthorns



Hawthorn trees are known for plentiful fruit and being very cold hardy. The fruit is ample and a favorite of both turkey and deer.



Winter King Hawthorn





The Winter King produces plentiful bright red fruit. The fruit ripens in early October but will remain on the tree until February. The Winter King creates and irresistible food source for deer, turkey, and squirrels. Deer and Turkey will rely on the Winter King when other food sources become unavailable due to snow cover.

White Oak





White Oak acorns are considered to be the favorite food source for many types of wildlife. White Tailed deer are known to search the forest for White Oak acorns.

Swamp White Oak is one of the fastest growing oaks, and is tolerant of many soil types. Its wildlife value is high as many species of animals will find its acorns desirable.
